Annie Jean Shepherd

ANNIE JEAN SHEPHERD, 90, passed from this life on September 17, 2014 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Following cremation arrangements by Starrett Funeral Home of Paris, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm. Sunday October 12, 2014 at the Republic of Texas Plaza Park, in the barn. Host for the event is the Baytown Historical Preservation Association, of which she was a founding member and volunteer.

She was born May 20, 1924 in Hunt County, a daughter of Jesse C. and Widras Hightower Bailey. Annie was preceded in death by her husband T. Pete Shepherd.

She is survived by two nieces, Barbara Kelley and Alice Mayfield, both of Bogata, Texas; and by two nephews, Scott Blake and Brian Blake, of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Annie was volunteer director for the Baytown Historical Museum for thirteen years and served on the Advisory Council for the founding of the Baytown Historical Preservation Association. In observance of Annie's wishes, the family requests that memorial contributions be given in her honor to that organization: BHPA, P.O. Box 1244, Baytown, Texas 77522.
