Donald Lee Gray

DONALD LEE GRAY, 83, of Paris, entered Heaven on Friday February 13, 2015 from Paris Regional Medical Center. Starrett Funeral Home will conduct funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday February 17, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church, with Rev. Toby Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive
friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Donald was born January 16, 1932 in Enid, Oklahoma, a son of Percy Harold and Vivian Lula Peiffer Gray. He was a graduate of Marshall High School, then entered Oklahoma A & M University in Stillwater. He then entered the University of Houston, where he completed a B.S. degree in Math, preparing him for a career in Metallurgy. While in Houston he founded Gray Welding, Inc. with the help of his loving wife Edna, fabricators of oil field equipment. Donald spent over forty years with his company, now owned by his son Dennis.

He married Edna Emma Marie Wacker on October 19, 1952 in Salina, Kansas. The next sixty-plus years are the result of their bond and family. A member of Grace Lutheran Church, he was a wonderful Christian Father and husband, PawPaw to everyone he met, and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Edna; two sons, Dennis L. Gray and wife Linda, of Houston, and James (Jimmy) L. Gray and wife Cynthia, of Katy; two daughters, Debra (Debbie) G. Davis and husband Ernie, of Lumber City, and Jan G. Williams, and husband Fred, of Paris. Nine grandchildren, Toby Gray, Jeremy Gray , Christopher (Chris) Davis, Stuart Williams, Cynthia (Cindi) Rhoades, Ross Williams, Kimberly Gray, Kyle Gray, Kaitlin Gray; three great-grandchildren, Jordan (Jordy) Rhoades, Grace Williams, and Grayson Davis.

Serving as pallbearers will be his six grandsons. Named as an honorary pallbearer is David Rhoades.
