Happy L Stell

January 1, 1919 — February 1, 2012

HAPPY HULETT STELL, 93, long time resident of Paris, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 4, 2012 in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Fangio officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Stell was born January 2, 1919 in Paris to Alan F. and Lois Evans Hulett. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church and a member of the Letter Carrier's Auxiliary. She graduated from Paris High School and Paris Business College. She retired from Campbell Soup Company in 1978.

She married Melvin (Hap) Stell on June 22, 1938. They were married seventy years until his death in September 2008. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by son, Roger L. Stell; a great-grandson, John Frank Powers; a brother, Lloyd E. Baugh; two sisters, Marguerite Davis and Ann Marvin.

Surviving are a son, Fred C. Stell, of Paris; three daughters, Sheila Powers and husband, Jackie, of Greenville; Susan Blan and husband, Danny, of Wills Point; and Laynie Wright and husband, Rex, of Quinlan; grandchildren Jeff Powers and wife, Kim, Dan Powers and wife, Janet, Kirk Stell and wife, Sharon, Kristi Sutton and husband, Steve, Freda Pyle and husband, Shane, Katie Mancil and husband, Ben, Annie Wright, and Cody Blan; great-grandchildren Brad Powers, Jennifer Ludford and husband, Casey, Brandon Powers and Kayla Powers, Eli Mancil, Alex Powers and Caleb Powers, Trista Bishop, Nicole Benson, Dane Benson, Zeke Pyle, Maddie Pyle and Zack Pyle, great-great-grandchildren Cannon Ludford, Davin Bishop and Skylee Bishop. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Edna Baugh, of Antlers, Oklahoma; a nephew, and four nieces.

Named to serve as pallbearers are Kirk Stell, Dan Powers, Brad Powers, Steve Sutton, Casey Ludford, and Bob Harrell.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Sid White, the Faught Volunteer Fire Department, EMS of Paris, the nurses and staff at Platinum Home Health Care and Paris Skilled Nursing for their care and concern during Mrs. Stell's illness. The family is especially grateful to Sharon Stell for her loving care of Happy.
