HUGH W. BREM, 69, born on May 17th, 1945 in Paris, passed away on Sunday March 15th at Lake Worth Nursing Home in Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday March 19th, 2015 in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home with Rev. Don Parker officiating. His family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Hugh will be laid to rest in Shady Grove Cemetery in Lamar County with military honors.
Hugh was the son of James Brem and Rebecca Green Brem. He was of the Baptist faith. At the age of 17 he entered the U.S. Army, serving in Germany. After attending Military Police school he served from 1966 to 1972 in Vietnam as an M.P. He was a sergeant in the 82nd Airborne (MP) division.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Bill Green and Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Brem; by his father James Brem; his step-father Clifton Lenoir; his brother, James Brem; and a sister Linda Brem West.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Brem; two children from his first wife, daughter Rebecca and adopted son John Brem; two step sons, David and Delfin Diaz; four grandchildren, Jakob & Michael Kohler, Samantha & Harley Brem; by his mother Rebecca Lenoir; his aunt Lillie Jones; a sister Libbie Baxter; a step-sister Barbara Cooper, four nieces, three nephews, and numerous other cousins, extended family and friends.
In honor of his service to our country, pallbearers will be members of the Northeast Texas Patriot Guard.
