IDA MAE DOLLINS THOMAS, 79, of Enchanted Oaks, passed from this life Wednesday March 21, 2012 in Mabank. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 24, 2012 in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home with Rev. Benny Joe Dollins officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Ida was born May 25, 1932 in Paris, a daughter of Benjamin Harrison and Rosie Bell Hignight Dollins. She attended Rosa Pearson School and was a graduate of Paris High School. She spent her working years as a business partner with her husband Brad in the photography business.
She married J.E. "Brad" Thomas on September 5, 1947 in Paris. He preceded her in death on December 15, 2010.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, Sherry Young and husband Don, of Enchanted Oaks; a son, Gary Martin Thomas and wife Micky, of Paris; three grandchildren, Tamijo Butcher, of Gun Barrel City, Cheri' Brakefield, of Denton, and Crystal Thomas, of Denton; nine great-grandchildren, Beaux Holley, Kimberly Duckworth, Christina Lazard, Brant Burel, Beaux Scott Brakefield, Kaylee Kim Brakefield, Karley Pierce, Katelynn Pierce and C.J. Pierce; six great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Dollins and wife Maryanne, of Port Neches and Harrison Dollins and wife Doris, of Paris; and a sister, Patsy Green, of Paris.
