JAMES MONROE LESTER, 69, of Pattonville, passed from this life Wednesday December 29, 2010 at Paris Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday December 31, 2010 in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Hines officiating. Interment will follow in Meadowbrook Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Monroe was born June 23, 1941 in Paris, a son of Marvin and Edna Barnes Lester. He attended Paris schools, and worked as a truck driver for Load Trail Trailers.
He married Carolyn Foster on June 17, 1960 in Hugo, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by a brother, Robert Lester, and a sister, Dorothy Lester.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn, of the home; a son, Danny Wayne Lester and wife Betty Sue, of Pattonville; two daughters, Kathie Ann Williams and husband Lyle of Bogata, and Brenda Lee Sisson and fianc Michael Smith, of Paris; ten grandchildren, Ashley Janes, Brandon Williams, Cody Williams, April Davidson, Jennifer Brown, Toni Brem, Heather George, Hannah Sisson, Taylor Henson and Anthony Lester; ten great-grandchildren; three brothers, Marion Lester, Charlie Lester and Paul Lester, all of Paris; three sisters, Opal Hunter, of Powderly, Evelyn Finney, of Paris, and special sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Ed Cooper, of Paris.
Named to serve as pallbearers are Larry Sisson, Shawn Brown, Stacy Janes, Ed Cooper, Lyle Williams and Daniel Lee.
Monroe was loved dearly by his family and friends. He will be missed.
