Julian V Martinez

JULIAN V. MARTINEZ, JR., formerly of Paris , passed from this life Tuesday June 8, 2010 at Rowlett Health and Rehabilitation Center . Starrett Funeral Home will conduct services at 3:00 p.m. Sunday June 13, 2010 at the New Colony Church near Linden , Texas . Burial will follow in the New Colony Cemetery .



The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.



Mr. Martinez was born January 28, 1925 in Waco , a son of Julian Vasquez and Maria Vasquez Martinez. He was a welder by trade, and worked for many years in Linden . Later in life he resided in Reno , Texas for eight years with his wife Mabel.



He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a daughter, Diana; one sister; and three brothers.



Survivors include a son, Robert Martinez; five grandchildren; a sister, Christina Delfin, of Waco ; a brother, Gregory Martinez, of Dallas ; and step-daughters Suzy Kosterman and husband Don, of Paris and Jean Motas, of Rowlett; and numerous nieces and nephews.



Named to serve as pallbearers are Don Kosterman, Charles Martinez, Rick Martinez, Patrick Hackworth, Paul Hughes, Phillip Hughes, Eric Hughes and Stephen Hughes.
