KATHERINE WRIGHTMAN LEWIS, 99, of Paris, went home to be with her Lord Saturday July 21, 2012 at Paris Oaks Assisted Living. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday July 24, 2012 in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Private interment will follow in Meadowbrook Gardens.
Although there will be no formal visitation, the body will lie in repose at the funeral home until service time.
Katherine was born July 3, 1913 in Dallas, a daughter of Harry and Miney May Dooley Wrightman. After moving to Paris, she had her first job, as a thirteen year old, working at City Steam Laundry. She later retired from Munsingwear Hollywood Vasserette, where she had worked for many years. She was a member of East Paris Baptist Church, where she attended faithfully for over fifty years until 2007, when she went to live at Paris Oaks Assisted Living. She continued in her faith and love of God by attending services at Paris Oaks each Sunday.
She married Ralph Lewis in 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1985.
Katherine is survived by many friends and associates, each of whom she loved.
A note of appreciation goes to the Paris Oaks Assisted Living staff for the care and love they showed toward her during the five years that she considered Paris Oaks her home.
