KATY MAE SCOTT, 100, passed from this life on Wednesday June 29, 2011 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday July 2, 2011 in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home, with Rev. John Brown officiating. Private burial will follow in the Pecan Gap Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Scott was born October 19, 1910 in Pecan Gap, a daughter of W.E. and Addie Taylor Merrill. She was a graduate of Pecan Gap High School, then worked in retail positions with Aiken Shoe Store and Kress in Paris. She married L.H. Scott in 1928 in Pecan Gap. He preceded her in death in 1998.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam Merrill and John Merrill; and by one sister, Nina Guthrie.

She is survived by two sons, Bob Scott, of Paris, and Charles Scott and wife Barbara, of Reno; a grandson, Dev Scott and wife Rebecca, of Reno; three great- grandchildren, Tyler Scott, Keragahn Scott and Bailey Scott; two sisters, Ramona Marcum, of Columbia, South Carolina and Sue Brady, of Chicago, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
