Keith A. Dickinson, 80, of Paris, Texas, departed this life at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday May 19, 2017. Roden-Pryor Funeral Directors will conduct memorial services 2:00 P.M. Thursday May 25, 2017 at East Post Oak Baptist Church, 5978 FM 1502 Detroit, Texas 75436 with Reverend Henry Blackmon, officiating, and Reverend John K. Withem, Pastor/Eulogist. Keith was born on October 14, 1936 in Paris, Texas to Viva and Thetis Curtis "Sam" Dickinson. He graduated from Paris High School in 1954 and then continued to East Texas State University (now Texas A&M Commerce) where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 1959. On August 20, 1960 he was united in marriage to Hazel "Marie" Hudgeons of Texarkana, Texas and their love stood the test of time for 56 years. In 1961 Keith was called into active duty with the Army National Guard and was stationed in Fort Polk, Louisiana and served until 1962. Keith was employed by International Minerals and Chemicals - IMC Global and held accounting and management positions throughout his 33-years with the company. Keith's accomplished career led his family to journey across various areas of the U.S. including Florence, Alabama; then to Chicago, Illinois; then to Lakeland, Florida. In 1995, upon his retirement, Keith and Marie moved back "home" to Paris, Texas.

Keith was blessed in many ways. He was an avid golfer for years - he also enjoyed playing softball, gardening, woodworking, reading, working on his farm, and spending time with his family.

Keith was preceded in death by his loving parents Viva and Thetis Curtis "Sam" Dickinson of Paris, Texas.

Keith leaves to cherish his memories: his beloved wife, Marie Dickinson of 56 years; two sons, Curtis Dickinson of Paris, Texas and Kelly Dickinson of Paris, Texas; daughter, Kathy Dickinson-Lamm of Winter Park, Florida; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Lamm and Meredith Lamm of Winter Park, Florida; as well as numerous family and friends who will miss him dearly. Keith was a devoted and loving husband, a wonderful father and "Granddaddy", a respected leader in the church, and a friend to all. He could always be looked to as an inspiration and example of a devoted Christian.

A special thank you to Platinum Health Care for their loving hospice care and support over the past few months.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Keith's name may be made to Faught Volunteer Fire Department, 197 County Road 43420, Paris, Texas 75462.
