LlOYD RAY MAHAN, 67, of Tigertown, passed from this life unexpectedly on Thursday February 13, 2014, while doing what he lovedcaring for his property and being outdoors. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday February 17, 2014 in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Tigertown Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Lloyd was born November 18, 1946 in Paris, a son of Cleabern and Stella Tribble Mahan. He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, then spent a career self-employed in building construction. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a talented builder and hard worker, strong and independent in spirit, and with a heart of love for his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; by two brothers, Kimmer Mahan and Major Dean Mahan; and a brother-in-law, Donald Conrad.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Mahan and wife Andrea, of Tigertown; two grandchildren, Whitney Mahan and Cade Mahan; two sisters-in-law, Patsy Mahan, of Tigertown and Minnie Conrad, of Direct; and several nieces and nephews.
Named to serve as pallbearers are Billy Burnett, Kevin Clarkson, Josh Hostetler, Cody Stephens, Blayne Hodges and Bruce Ary.
Honorary pallbearers are, Max Hutchins, Stan Yeager, W.H. Brumley, Big Boy Rannals, Buddy Kilpatrick, Kevin Norris, and Pat Young.
