MALCOM JESS BILLINGLEY, 62, of Paris, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday August 7, 2016, from Paris Regional Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. Following cremation arrangements by Starrett Funeral Home, the family will host a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Bonham Street Church of Christ. Malcolm's good friend Tom O'Neal will officate.
Family and friends are invited as guests to a luncheon immediately after the service.
Malcolm was born on March 1, 1954 to Jess Willard Billingsley and Gerneece Lowry Billingsley in Paris, TX. He lived most of his adult life in Paris and Roxton, Texas. Malcolm graduated from Pottsboro High School and attended college. He loved to study and talk about history, as he had a great memory for noting important historical dates and events. Malcolm worked for David Maggi of Maggi Sales Company from 1998 to 2008. David showed Malcolm unconditional love as a friend, and he mentored Malcolm for many years. He then worked for Wal-Mart until late 2013, when he retired due to health problems. He resided at Paris Healthcare Center where he met a group of wonderful, loving and caring nurses and staff who did their very best for him. Tim Walsworth, who Malcolm considered both a close friend and guardian angel, spent countless hours with at his side, and Tim's friendship brought many hours of happiness and laughter, even in hard times.
Malcolm was preceded in death by his mother and father, and a sister, Barbara Billingsley, who passed from this life in 1965.
He is survived by two brothers, Glenn Billingsley, of Plano, and Gary Billingsley, of Arlington; a sister-in-law, Michele Billingsley, of Plano; two nephews, Jordan Schweiger of Salem, Oregon and Chris Warren of Scottsdale Arizona.; two nieces, Kara Frank, of Eagle, Idaho and Nicole Smayling, of San Jose, California; an aunt, Norma Jean Hudson, of Paris; and two cousins, Mark and Brad Hudson, both of Paris.
Malcolm made friends easily and will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him, and his kind heart and compassion for others.
