Mary Frances Ramsey

Mary Frances Ramsey, age 81, of Powderly passed away quietly on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in Paris, TX. Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Friday, January 26, 2018 at Red Hill Cemetery with Rev. Chris Kelly officiating. The family will accept visitors at the cemetery one hour before service time. Roden-Pryor Funeral Directors has charge of the arrangements.

Mary was born in Paris, Texas on November 17, 1936 to Lester and Lala Hudson Freeman. She attended school in Powderly, Borger and McGregor, where she graduated. She joined College Avenue Baptist Church in McGregor on April 16, 1954. She married Zoel Ramsey in Powderly, Texas on April 26, 1954 and they enjoyed 63 years of marriage together. While raising her family, Mary kept the books for the family business. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to quilt, making quilts for all of the grandchildren. Mary was known for her fruit cake cookies. She and Zoel square danced for many years. She recently had received her 50 year pin from the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Doris Pinker in 2006; a brother, Donald Freeman in 1985; and a son, Kurt Ramsey in 2013. She is survived by her loving husband, Zoel Ramsey; children, Lynn Ramsey and wife, Barbara, Ben Ramsey and wife, Jeannie, Bronis Ramsey, and daughter-in-law, Robbie Ramsey; grandchildren, Ashley, Brittany, Chas, Kaleb, Tonetta, Mack, and Gabby; great-grandchildren, Preston, Hunter, Levi, Caspen, and Jett.
