ORVIS WINFORD MAULDIN, 81, of Blossom, passed from this life into life eternal Thursday July 28, 2016 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday July 30, 2016 in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Fangio officiating. Burial followed the service in the East Post Oak Cemetery.
Orvis was born September 14, 1934 in the Cuthand community of Red River County, a son of Herman and Lorene Cook Mauldin. He was of the Baptist faith. A retired truck driver, he spent many years on the road for the Southern Transit Company.
He married Lela Faye Brewer on July 1, 1965 in Paris.
He was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Pandora Weaver and husband Rusty, of Blossom; a son, Travis Mauldin and wife Lisa, of Fouke, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Joe Cook and wife Jennifer, Cassandra Gilbert and husband Johnny, Brandon Mauldin and fiance April Stiles, Mandy Walls and Aaron Page, Billye Roberts and husband David, James Campbell, Nicole Mauldin, Lyndsey Weaver, and Jessica Hollingsworth and husband Nick; sixteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Ramon Mauldin and wife Brenda, of Paris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Named to serve as pallbearers are Joe Cook, Brandon Mauldin, Kevin Pilip, Rusty Weaver, Zachary Heath, and James Campbell.
