PAMELA ANN DENTON, 62, of Paris, passed from this life Monday April 2, 2012 at Paris Regional Medical Center South. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday April 4, 2012 in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Regan officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pam was born March 11, 1950 in Paris, the daughter of Lee and Jessie Colburn Denton. She was a graduate of Paris High School and attended Texas Womens University. She spent a long career as a secretary, having worked for UARCO, Inc. until the Paris plant closure, then for fourteen years at Clifford Radiology. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Pam had a tender heart for all creatures, but her love for cats was the greatest of all. She often sacrificed personally for their health and comfort, and was loved in return.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Denton, on July 29, 2008.
She is survived by her mother, Jessie Denton, of Paris; an aunt, Agatha Ray, of Smith Center, Kansas; cousins Paul Gene Roden and wife Anita, of Paris, Suzanne Roden, of Tyler and Marcus Roden and wife Sharon, of Paris; a number of second cousins, and a host of friends.
Named to serve as pallbearers are Dr. Stephen Haas, Lloyd Cunningham, Paul Kirk Roden, Willie Ausmus, Weldon Slaton, and Randy Floyd.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Radio Fund, 322 Lamar Avenue, Paris, TX 75460; to the Texas Lions Camp, P.O. Box 290247, Kerrville, TX 78029; or to a charity of choice.
