Ray Floyd Hudson was born on June 2, 1933. He attended and graduated from Blackshear High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Arts degree from Prairie View A&M for Economics. He later enlisted and served his country in the United States Army.
After serving in the army, Ray coached basketball at Robert E. Lee Jr. High School. He also served as a history teacher for the students at that school. He received rewards for contributions and appreciation from the Blackshear faculty for work done in the field of athletics. In later years, Ray worked for the Social Security Administration as a district manager in Paris Texas for 24 years where he provided needed services for the residents of Paris, Texas, and surrounding areas. After retiring from government service, he remained in Paris, Texas where his hobbies were golf and spending time with his family.
Ray married to Mary McCoy, and they had two daughters, Carol, and Amy Hudson.
He is survived by his daughter, Amy Hudson and grandson, Jason Hudson along with many other close family members and friends.
Ray will be remembered for his generosity provided to his community and the joy of life he brought to others. He will also be remembered for his love and faith he had in God.
There will be a wake for Ray on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Roden-Pryor Funeral Home, 1929 Bonham Street, Paris, Texas. Memorial services are scheduled for Sunday, at 12 Noon, at Roden-Pryor Funeral Home, 1929 Bonham Street, Paris, Texas.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Roden-Pryor Funeral Directors, 1929 Bonham Street, Paris, Texas.
