Ronald Matson

RONALD CLAUDE MATSON, 83, of the Brookston Community, Lamar County, Texas, died Friday February 19, 2010 at his residence. Following cremation arrangements by Starrett Funeral Home, the family will hold private memorial services at their home.

Ronald was born September 29, 1926 in Fabius, NY, a son of Lawrence and Frances Fuller Matson. Following high school graduation he served in the Army Air Corps. He was a retired diesel mechanic and a rancher.

He married Nancy Nugunt on September 16, 1960 in Syracuse, NY.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linda Carrington and husband Thomas and Karen Matson; three sons, Stephen Matson, James Matson and wife Denise, and Robert Matson and wife Dawn; two granddaughters, Serena Matson and Elizabeth Carrington; four grandsons, Timothy Matson, Christopher Carrington, Lucas Matson and Logan Matson; and two sisters, Betty Butkins and husband Jack and Ruthie Krom and husband Dick.
