On Friday, May 29, 2015 at 9:57 a.m., the earth hushed in silence as Heaven was alive with welcome for one not meant for this earth, and Rowan James Lindsey was carried to a perfect place of eternal light and happiness, far from the sadness of those he left behind. Chad and Christian, in their deep sorrow, have sent ahead a precious jewel that will glimmer eternally in their hearts. No time on earth for growth and accomplishment; no memory of the tender love of his family; no pains of separation to feel in his home of eternal beauty and peace. It becomes the hard duties of those who conceived him, his proud father and loving mother, who's beating heart he heard for a brief time very near his own, their lullabies to one they loved, yet in the womb, to bear the tears and questions that accompany such a time as this. No words can heal, no prose or rhyme can comfort, no cheer can mend the hearts which lie broken.
Yet, those left behind will carry the certainty that the brief earthly life of Rowan was important, not only to his loving family, but to the One who is the eternal Creator of all that is good. There will never be another Rowan. But, just as assuredly, a gentle peace will cause the sun to shine again, as we await that Perfect Day where the sorrow of separation will have disappeared, and the loving Father to us all shall wipe the tears from our eyes. For now, we say, "goodnight." Up there, it was a welcoming "good morning." A glad family reunion, one lasting forever, awaits.
