Ruby was a dedicated Army wife for over 20 years, who not only raised her family but also made room to help and take in more. Her selflessness and love of children made her arms the place to be for anyone who needed the extra help and love. Ruby was a hard worker, wonderful cook, homemaker, wife, mother and Mamaw. She never met a stranger and was either Mamaw or Aunt Fay to all who met her.
She is survived by her daughters, Claudette Reed and husband David; Jimmie Simmons Gillespie as well as 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 7 great- great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in her loving memory to Hospice, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Veteran's Airlift Command.
