SHIRLEY DAVIS WEIGART NUNEZ, 73, entered her peaceful rest on the morning of Tuesday April 26th at Dubuis hospital of Paris surrounded by the love of her family and the presence of the Lord. Funeral Services will be held on Friday April 29th, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home with Superintendent Bruce Rollerson officiating. Interment will follow in the Tigertown Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday.
She was born on November 18th, 1942 in Paris, Texas to Neal Burgess Weigart and Theda Dale Holcomb Weigart of Tigertown, Texas. Shirley was a retired salesperson for the Deport Times. She considered herself a garage sale aficionado and she was as much a regular at the local coffee shops as the coffee pot was. She never met a stranger and claimed her one true love would always be Elvis Presley, much to the dismay of her children. More than anything she loved the company and laughter of her family and closest friends. She was at her best when she was being a mother, grandmother and great- grandmother.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her sister Mary Ann Myers, and two brothers, Walter B. Weigart and Danny Neal Weigart.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory a daughter, Cynthia Foreman Cole and a son, Johnny Neal Nunez, both of Paris, Texas; her acquired daughter, Debbie Raney and husband Jeff of Paris; granddaughter, Chandi Bruce and husband Ryan of Antlers, Oklahoma; grandsons Christopher Cole and wife Riley, of Reno, Colton Cole and fianc Mariah Loehr of Reno; as well as Ryan Kennedy and Gabrielle Kennedy both of Paris; great-grandchildren Reddie, Gracie Bell, and Cole Bruce, and Ellie Rose Cole; a niece, Kathy Sims and husband Floyd of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; a great-niece, Deborah Butler and husband Troy of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and a great-nephew Arthur Sims, of Paris.
Named to serve as pallbearers are Joe Stringfellow, Jake Stringfellow, Josh Stringfellow, Cody Compton, Ryan Kennedy, Arthur Sims, and Boonie Thomas. Honorary pallbearer will be her pride and joy, Reddie Bruce.
